About: Children in Exile: A Pictorial Record
Until 2009, the author's dissertation about the German Democratic Republic (DGR) and SWAPO Solidarity Project 'School of Friendship" and about possibilities and limits of intercultural education, was the only study which focused on the educational process of this unique project that came to its natural end in the summer of 1990. Children in Exile: A Pictorial Record is the story of the so called GDR-SWAPO children from Namibia. It streches from the time when the Namibian children arrived in the former German Democratic Republic (DGR) to their repatriation to an independent Namibia. Dr. Jürgen Krause, who was in charge for their education concepts, wishes an enjoyable read and invites the reader to a travel down memory lane in order to explore another human aspect of the Namibian liberation struggle.
