Description:

Namibia became independent in 1990 as the last colony in Africa. Thousands of Namibians suffered and some lost their lives during this struggle, both at the hands of South Africa and at the hands of their own "comrades". However, the majority of Namibians have been kept in the dark about the atrocities that were committed by Namibians against fellow Namibians in exile. Those Namibians who remained inside the country during the liberation struggle are most disadvantaged, as they never saw, sensed, experienced or knew what exactly happened among fellow Namibians in exile. To date, talking openly about Namibia's liberation struggle has remained a taboo. This book, The Agony of Truth, is primarily the author's personal testimony to the years of the Namibian liberation history and soon thereafter. It is a humble contribution towards lowering the wall of secrecy that has been erected to conceal the wrong-doings of Namibians towards fellow Namibians in exile. It presents a side of events that may contradict some long-held versions of the very same events. It lays bare stories that have been withheld from the public. The autobiography, which is foreworded by Professor Joseph Diescho, will achieve its objective should it provoke a healthy public debate, helping Namibians to get a bigger picture and a better understanding of their liberation history.
