Table Mountain is a huge sprawling massif covering approximately 50 square kilometres. It has four distinct sides and three satellite peaks, Devil's Peak, Lion's Head and Mount Rhodes. There are a multitude of walks, scrambles and climbs criss-crossing every side and every peak, and in this book I endeavour to describe them in as clear and understandable a way as possible, making finding the start of your intended route a simple task and indeed the route itself easy to follow. For ease of use I have divided the Table Mountain Classics into several sections:

Suburban Side: Routes from Constants Nek to the Saddle
Saddle Area: Routes leading from the Saddle up the Table Mountain side
Devil's Peak: Routes on Devil's Peak
Cape Town Front: Routes from the Saddle to Kloof Nek
Lion's Head: Routes on Lion's Head
Atlantic Side: Routes from Kloof Nek to Hout Bay Corner (including Mount Rhodes)
Orange Kloof: Routes from Myburgh's Waterfall Ravine to Constantia Nek
Top of the Mountain: Paths exploring the top of Table Mountain
