Otjiherero is one of the main languages of Namibia and is spoken by roughly 10% of the namibian population. At the University of Namibia (UNAM) and public schools, Otjiherero, as a language with an standardised othography, is subject. In current literature, Otjiherero is only little represented in lyriks, some school books and bibles. In South-West Africa's colonial and pre-colonial days, Otjiherero was one of the first languages being subject to research by scientist and missionaries.
