About: An Expert's Guide to Finding the Animals in Etosha

The Namibian word Etosha means "great white place". Covering an area of 22,912 km², the Etosha National Park is indeed a great place, teaming with wildlife: over 100 species of mammals and over 400 species of birds, plus sundry reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates. With 64 waterholes and more than 1,000 km of gravel roads surrounding and connecting them, it can also be a daunting place for the visitor that wants to view as much of the prolific wildlife as possible during a usually short stay. Even though there can be no guarantee of encountering any specific animal in any given location, the aim of An Expert's Guide to Finding the Animals in Etosha is to increase the possibilities of sighting game by providing condensed information, distilled from countless drives through the park since 1992.
