The Aawambo came from the great Bantu family. They speak Oshiwambo language which consists of eight directs: Oshikwanyama, Oshindonga, Oshikwambi, Oshingandjera, Oshimbalantu, Oshikwaluudhi, Oshikolonkadhi and Oshimbandja. All names of dialects use the language prefix: “Oshi-“.
