Leon Nell ist ein südafrikanischer Autor und Fotograf.

Leon Nell wurde in Nordrhodesien geboren und kam 1964 nach Südafrika, wo er über vierzehn Jahre im behördlichen Umweltschutz tätig und in Mpumalanga für die Verwaltung einiger Naturschutzgebiete verantwortlich war. Im Jahr 1994 wurde er für seinen ehrenamtlichen Einsatz im Vorstand der Study Group Committee of Endangered Species mit dem Titel Conservator of the Year geehrt. Leon Nell ist ein ambitionierter Fotograf und Autor, lebt mit seiner Frau Tilla Nell in dem Ort De Rust in der Kleinen Karoo und schreibt Beiträge für die regionalen Zeitungen Oudtshoorn Courant, Country Life und Vrouekeur.
