Die Westküste: Die rauhe Westküste ist noch nicht entwickelt, abgesehen von einfachen Fischerkaten. Eine große Vielzahl an Blütenpflanzen entfaltet im Frühling atemberaubende Pracht zur Zeit der Wildblumenblüte im Namaqualand, und es gibt viele Seevögel, wie etwa Kaptölpel.
Der Overberg: Die südwestliche Gegend am Kap und das dazu gehörige Hinterland ist bekannt als Overberg, eine überwiegend ländliche, schöne Landschaft, deren Küstenorte, wie Arniston und Hermanus, bekannt sind für Walbeobachtung und Brandungsangeln.
Die Kleine Karoo: Über die zerklüftete Gebirgslandschaft der Kleinen Karoo windet sich die Route 62 von Robertson im Westen bis zur Straußenzuchtgegend um Oudtshoorn im Osten. Trocken und staubig, aber mit eindrucksvollen Panoramen.
