Pat de la Harpe ist die Ehefrau des südafrikanischen Fotografen und Autoren Roger de la Harpe. Mit ihm betreibt sie in der Stadt Howick in den Kwa-Zulu Natal Midlands ein Dienstleistungsunternehmen im Medienbereich, Africa Imagery. Unter den zahlreichen Büchern, an denen sie als Autorin mitgearbeitet hat, ist das Buch 'In Search of the African Wild Dog' sehr populär.
