Nach dem Studium des Journalismus an der Rhodes University in Grahamstown, Südafrika (1977-1979) wechselte Neil Rusch in das Verlagsfach und wurde Herausgeber des südafrikanischen Segelmagazines Yachting News sowie der Flesch Financial Publications. Seit 1999 ist er für den Verlag Southern Cross Ventures tätig.
