Desription:

Formed in 1899, the Rhodesia Regiment fought for British interests in the Boer War and in German South West Africa, in German East Africa against the undefeated German Schutztruppe under the command of famous General Paul von Lettow-Vorbeck, the Western Front in Europe and finally in the Salonica campaign during the First World War of 1914-1918, then in Second World War on all fronts on land, sea and in the air. During the 1960s until 1980, abandoned by their friends and former allies, they fought invading insurgent communists guerrillas losing more than 300 men during the course of the war. This time they fought for the survival of their homeland Rhodesia, without the benefit of allies until Great Britain forced a handover of the country to ZANU-PF terrorists led by Robert Mugabe who has since brought the country to a state of ruin and terror. The Rhodesia Regiment: From Boer War to Bush War 1899-1980, Alexandre Binda's third book, tells their regimental history.
