This popular administrative map is known by its popular name 'Farm Map' and shows, as of 1979, the administrative districts, farm boundaries and farm names of South West Africa/Namibia. How did this map from the time of South West Africa come to be so popular and to be seen on many farms, in numerous Namibian travel agencies and companies? It is the combination of a lot of interesting information that Namibia enthusiasts would otherwise only find on various types of maps, as well as the attractive overall view on one printed page, which invites you to present the farm map decoratively. Unfortunately, editions published in later years no longer show farm names, but only numbers, for which a name index was apparently never created.
1. Representation of the farms with their names or numbers and their boundaries. This is otherwise only available in the series of topographic maps of Namibia at a scale of 1:250,000.
2. Representation of district and administrative boundaries of the country.
3. Representation of infrastructure and terrain similar to travel maps.
4. Representation of some topographical features, such as contour lines and rivers. The farm map of Namibia has a continuous grid at full degrees and a scale bar.
5. A convenient scale of 1:1,000,000 and the presentation of the entire view on one printed page.
7. The South West Africa/Namibia 1979 farm map is available folded down to 21 x 28 cm or unfolded and shipped in a tube.
