Antonio Vizcaino (1952-2019) was a landscape photographer and conservationist who published over thirty books in his 37 years of photographic career. His extraordinary landscape book on the NamibRand Nature Reserve in southern Namibia is a tribute to late Johann Albrecht 'Albi' Brückner (1930-2016) and to his conservationist's vision so fully realized in the act of creating the NamibRand Nature Reserve and protecting it for future generations. Areas like NambiRand, with their incredible beauty and relevance, must be protected because they belong to all humanity, all species, and all organisms. The NamibRand Conservation Foundation nurtures environmental conservation, learning, and research undertaken on the NamibRand Nature Reserve and in the southwest Namib region by educating decision makers, the general public, and young people in environmental and ecosystem conservation, natural resource sustainability, and biodiversity protection. Comprised of all landowners whose properties form part of the Reserve, the NamibRand Nature Reserve Association includes 17 former livestock farms that have joined together to form a single, holistically managed nature reserve. The overall Strategic Vision of the NamibRand Nature Reserve is to manage the Pro-Namib area for the enhanced conservation of landscape and biodiversity.
