Different from other fishing books on the market, which tend to be guides, Fishing Yourself Single is about the passion that drives people to set off after the big one, at the expense of everything else. It is by two Durban fishermen who have sacrificed all for their love, fishing. Packed with fishing stories, some fishier than others, it will inspire fishermen to get their rods out of moth balls and head off in search of adventure. Those who are stuck somewhere far from water will enjoy vicariously living through the authors’ experiences.
Craig Thomassen is also a well-known South African fisherman who has travelled and fished extensively in Africa. He has worked in the tourism industry and as a fishing guide and has guided local and international clients all over Africa and on the islands. He has written articles for numerous publications including Out There, The Complete Flyfisherman, Tight Lines, The Fishing Journal, African Hunting Gazette, The South African and Ski Boat. Craig used to have a regular column in Tight Lines and currently has a column in Inwater.
Andy Coetzee, a fishing icon and one of the pioneers of salt water fly fishing in South Africa, has travelled extensively with his fishing rods, catching fish and taking photographs. His travels have taken him to some out-of-the-way places and he has had some unique experiences. He has worked as a fishing guide, guiding local and international clients in many African countries and islands. For many years Andy was a field editor for The Complete Flyfisherman and he has also been published in Out There and a number of international publications.
