Lily Jouve wurde in Kairo, Ägypten geboren. Sie studierte Jura und widmete sich später ganz der Malerei. Sie ist die Ehefrau des Fotografen und Autoren Marcel Jouve, mit dem zusammen Lily Jouve auf den Philipinen, Kenia, Gabun und Namibia lebte und arbeitete.
