Alice Jarvis, Jahrgang 1968, ist gebürtige Britin. Sie studierte Umweltbiologie an der University of York und lebt seit 1996 in Namibia, wo sie als wissenschaftliche Mitarbeiterin bei einer Vielzahl von Umweltprogrammen und in der Forschung über endemische Vögel, im nationalen Programm für Biodiversität und in zahlreichen Umweltschutzprojekten Namibias sowie in der Beratung der dazugehörigen NGOs tätig war. Alice Jarvis ist Co-Autorin der Standardwerke Namibia’s Coast: Ocean Riches and Desert Treasure und The Atlas of Namibia und hat etliche Internetseiten in Namibia entwickelt und aufgebaut, darunter die des Namibia Environmental Information Service.
