"Zambia: Good Copper, Bad Copper" is a film about a copper mine in Zambia and questionable development politics.
"Zambia: Good Copper, Bad Copper" (French title: Zambie: A qui profite le cuivre? A. Gallet (F) & A. Odiot (F), 2011) makes visible the consequences of raw material extraction and massive privatization for a country in the southern hemisphere. The screening will be followed by a public Workshop (in English) with students from the Seminar of Social Anthropology of the University of Basel: «What Is Connecting Zambia and Switzerland? Copper and Its Social Effects on Either Country» Moderated by Rita Kesselring.
