Das Wrack des 1970 an Namibias Atlantikküste gestrandeten Trawlers MFV Winston (CTA718) fällt allmählich den Umwelteinflüssen zum Opfer und verschwindet allmählich.

Nach mehr als 40 Jahren sind nur noch einige wenige Teile von dem bekannten Schiffswrack „Winston“ zu sehen. Die großen Stahlbrocken liegen am Strand zerstreut wenige Kilometer südlich von der Ugab-Riviermündung. Der 180 Tonnen schwere südafrikanische Fischtrawler war im Oktober 1970 wegen dichten Nebels auf Grund gelaufen. Das Schiff diente jahrelang als Landmarke und ist auch heute noch gut bekannt. Die Bucht ist bei Brandungsanglern beliebt. Vor allem der Afrikanische Adlerfische (Kabeljau), aber auch Galjoene und Westküstenstreifenbrassen (Steenbras) werden dort gefangen.
