"Which way for Namibia? The aftermath of the colonial era has brought about interesting changes the world over. The old paternalistic policies of the occupier, which subjected the people to perpetual servitude, hardly left any room for training the colonial inhabitants, let alone for encouraging their aspirations of self-rule in the future. Because of the straight-jacket conditioning over the centuries, the colonial subjects find themselves in a condition of complete confusion the moment the colonial master withdraws to his mother country.

This confusion results in intruders capitalising on for the scene and ultimately taking over the reigns of government for their own political gain. This intruder engineers methods suitable for his own purposes to achieve certain objectives unknown to the masses. In all cases the "freed" colonial subjects find themselves presented with a number of confusing options and often grasp at the first (and most likely wrong) offer of freedom for the masses. This essay looks at the various options and attempts to highlight the best choice available for the people of Namibia."
