About: Here we stand. Reflecting on 500 years of Reformation in Namibia

'Here we stand. Reflecting on 500 years of Reformation in Namibia', is a special book, published on the eve of the Reformation's 500th anniversary. It includes articles by bishops, theologians, pastors, academics and lay members of the Lutheran community. In Namibia too, the Reformation continues to inspire a mood of religious, theological and political freedom, liberty of conscience, equality between women and men, education for all, a mutual understanding and cooperation among nations, ecumenical awareness and much more. Five hundred years after Martin Luther's publication of his 95 Theses, the global commemoration of Reformation will take place on 14 May 2017 in Windhoek. This major event offers an opportunity for us to reflect on past insights, present day challenges of both church and society, and to seek transformative actions that will reshape our situation for the better. It is an opportunity to enquire about the impact of Reformation on our religious and theological understanding, ethical and moral values, ecumenical situation as well as political, economic and social development.
