This handy guidebook is aimed at assisting visitors to the Etosha National Park and increasing their enjoyment of the wildlife that it offers. For the purpose of clarity, the park has been divided into three sections based on the tourist camps and waterholes that are accessible for tourist viewing. We have provided background information on the name, history and water type of each waterhole, as well as interesting facts on the special mammals, birds and plants that occur there. We give pointers where to look for which animals and birds, and have prepared a table of the species visitors are likely to find there. Game viewing in Etosha is largely dependent on the seasons, which in turn influence the dispersal of the animals around the Etosha Pan, determining where they can be seen.
