Softcover, 17x24 cm, 127 pages, throughout colour photos and images

Description:

Different sections: Since the book includes a variety of plant species ranging from water plants, wild flowers, tuberous food- and water plants as well as grasses, it was a challenge placing them in such a way that they will be easily accessible. There is therefore a separate 'quick reference' photographic list of the water plants with page references on pg 6-8. The grasses were placed in a separate section.

Colour codes: The rest of the book is colourcoded. The plants that have inconspicuous flowers and those which are mostly green, were placed in the green section (the sedges and ferns were included in this group). The other sections - white, yellow, red, pink and blue - are based on the colour of the flowers. The book includes 322 plant species. Each colour group is presented in alphabetical family groups starting for example with the Asteraceae and ending with Zygophyllaceae. These families are indicated in the colour strip at the bottom of the page.

Common names: The English, Setswana and Afrikaans common names of each plant were provided where available and there is an index of Setswana names. The book focuses on the medicinal, food and other uses. The uses are listed alphabetically, making it handy as a kind of 'survival guide' in the bush.
